GT-400 Hand Punch
The GT-400 uses a hand geometry reader in the same manner as our fingerprint clocks. The main benefit of hand biometrics vs. fingerprint biometrics is that hand biometrics work more consistently in industries where fingerprints may be dirty or worn. It will also guide the employee when positioning the hand on the reader.
Unlike our fingerprint clocks, the GT-400 requires a PIN be entered each time an employee uses the clock. The GT-400 also has Ethernet and bell ringer capabilities.
Installation
The GT-400 uses "through the wall" wiring, but installing the GT-400 is not difficult. The installer needs to mount the GT-400 back-plate to the wall and then plug in Ethernet and power through the wall.

Below are the answers to some frequently asked questions regarding this clock.
Can we put Swipeclock's software on a previously purchased GT-400?
No, this service was offered at one time, but is no longer available.
How many punches can the GT-400 hold before transmitting?
The clock has enough memory to store about 20,000 punches before it is required to transmit to our servers.
Can the employee's clock in/out without using a PIN?
No, the GT-400 does not have an identify mode necessary for recognizing employees without a PIN. In stead, the clock uses a Verify mode, which ultimately leads to more reliable and consistent results when reading the employees hand.
Verify mode allows the system to quickly identify the employee and then validates their hand measurements based on what was enrolled with that specific PIN. If the PIN was not required, the system would need to review every hand measurement on file to validate the punch. This would be very time consuming. It currently takes 6 seconds (or less) to punch IN/OUT using a PIN and hand validation.
Do employees have to use a hand print to clock in?
No, but this is not recommended since that eliminates the sole purpose of using a biometric clock, which is to prohibit buddy punching. However, if for any reason the employee is unable to use their hand to punch IN/OUT, the employer may choose to set the employee up with a Trusted PINs which will allow them to bypass the hand validation process.
If we have multiple GT-400 clocks, does an employee have to be enrolled at each clock?
Just like our other biometric clocks, the GT-400 hand templates can be synchronized over multiple clocks on one client's site.
Can the GT-400 ring a bell?
Yes, the bell relay kit can be installed in the same manner as it would on our Z clocks.
Does the GT-400 operate differently for managers/employees?
The GT-400 runs the same software as our other basic Ethernet clocks. Apart from a few differences in the keypad, the clocks operate similarly to any other Swipeclock Ethernet clock.
